How can we be enthusiastic about the European Union?

Although we grew up in one of the most peaceful and wealthier part of the world, it is hard to say out loud ‘Thank you EU’. Having guaranteed peace and prosperity for over than 60 years is not enough for the EU to be appreciated as a project for today and for tomorrow.

Many are reluctant to accept and promote the idea of an increasingly united Europe because it seems to imply giving up sovereignty to a flawed system. The lack of debate and above all solution- seeking undermines the potential of enhancing the quality of the EU system.

This will be the ‘young EUptimistics’’ goal. Bloggers will critically engage with sensitive topics and will reveal the EU’s weaknesses, its strengths and their suggestions to enhance the system.

We will involve as many groups as possible and build an extensive debating network between European universities to offer EU-wide solutions to EU issues.

We hope that the blog will be a way to awaken the consciences of us, young European citizens!
